This photo tour does not make any special sporting demands on the participants. There are short walks and short hikes to the photo locations, but not kilometers of hikes. In November the daytime temperatures are around 30 ° to 33 ° C, shade is usually in short supply. However, our cars are air-conditioned so that cross-country trips are also possible at lunchtime. The night temperatures are very constant at around 17 ° C, which is very comfortable for sleeping. Only on the coast in Swakopmund, Walvis Bay and the seal colony is it noticeably cooler and mostly quite windy.​

On other days, the stages often consist of a few short walks spread over the day  together. The soil is mostly sandy, dusty or rocky. Surefootedness (this means walking safely on different, often pathless and / or sandy or very stony terrain) is a great advantage. On the way we always stop to take photos or to marvel at the peculiarities of the area.  Perseverance and stamina are required for the longer cross-country journeys.
